Derriford On-Call Shifts
Twilights
Hours: 1700 - 2130 Main duty is covering the phone with some reporting as able. From 1700-1900 you are supported by the EWD consultant and need to touch base with them in terms of what reporting to do. From 1900-2130 it moves to the on-call consultant.
Weekends
Two shifts: first and second on. First on: 0845 - 1715 Second on: 1300-2130
First on turns up at 0845 and checks in in the Production Board Meeting which happens on teams. Following this they should touch base with the radiographer and vet the list and try to sort out the day's work. Main duties are again dealing with the phones and the reporting as able. There are supported by an On-Call consultant who may be on-site or WFH. There is also a Cat 1 Consultant who is in reporting category 1 scans from 0900 - 1700, and an ultrasound consultant 0900 - 1300 - which should mean that ultrasound is extremely rare.
Evening Vetting
In order to avoid scans going to PROC in the evening vetting changes a bit. The EWD consultant is supposed to go through the outstanding scans at 1900 and send anything from urgent prior to 1700 which has not yet been scanned to medica (with some exceptions), and down grade urgency as required. Anything urgent vetted after 1700 should be immidiately put to the PROCREP silo, and non-urgent stuff can remain in IP and does not need to be reported by PROC.
