PACS Tips

When having issues with the PACS window being the wrong size or location two shortcuts can be very useful:

  • Ctrl + Alt + I - This should set the screen layout to default, filling the reporting monitor screens.
  • Ctrl + Alt + C - This opens the PACS entity settings options, where under the “local session settings” tab there is an option to “allow window resizing” - if the window is not allowing you to change it, try toggling this on.

Exporting studies to other sites in the region including Bristol is extremely quick and easy. First, open the patient explorer - the button in the top left with a green man poking out a folder - then navigate to the right patient and find the relevant study in the bottom right box. Then if you scroll along the rows to the “referral status” column there is a green button - click this button to bring up the “Refer to” box. Complete this and the images will be automatically transferred.

To export images to distant sites out side the region you need an account with the national “Image Exchange Portal”. Only weirdo regs like me have one of those - in general just ask the radiographers to do this for you. If you really want to be able to do it yourself this is the site (only works from trust networks).
