Truro IT

IT in Truro is something of a mixed bag. The PACS team is great, but outside of that things can be pretty variable. Most general IT support and services are through the intranet - there is a direct shortcut on the desktop of most PCs to “CITS Online”. Here you'll find links to the “Service Desk Self Service Portal” which is the go to for most IT support, as well as forms to request access to IT systems and E-training.

Other than the basic PC/CRIS/PACS systems, it is really worth jumping the pretty simple hoops to get access to Maxims. This is the local system for submitting requests, getting results and letters. Its really invaluable if you have to send off FNA samples or biopsies, checking bloods, and looking back on scans to check outcomes.

The Truro PACS team based in the radiology department in the tower block, more or less opposite the reg room and are really helpful and efficient for most PACS and CRIS related enquires. If you aren't in the building the email is “rcht.pacs@nhs.net”.
